FDSC 1000 Writing Assignment 1 (Favorite Food)

My favorite food is without a doubt duck breast wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeños or as I have always known them, stuffed duck breasts. For as long as I can remember my father and grandfather have been making these every year during duck season for all the hunters in our family and our friends. Depending on how many ducks we killed determined how long throughout the year we made this amazing recipe so sometimes we only enjoyed these delicacies once a year. As amazing as the duck breasts taste the fact that making them is a family tradition, and the added benefit of fellowship with your friends and family while eating good food makes these my favorite; they are just like christmas and easter, a tradition.. Standing around the grill talking about past hunts, future hunts, or just the weather being with family makes anything better. Duck breasts are an outstanding meal but the added family and friends fellowship adds something to the meal that is better than any meal could ever be.

My least favorite food is creamed corn. Creamed corn has the ability to make me nauseas just thinking about it. The texture, the taste, the color, everything about it makes me not like it. I can eat corn on the cob but if you ever put creamed corn on my plate I will not be around long. Creamed corn used to be a weekly lunch item at my preschool it was always served on Friday, and if you cleaned your plate you got to have dessert. Now being the lover of desert that I am I was going to get my dessert, but that meant having to get through that creamed corn. Usually I would put it into other kids plates, but one day I could not get rid of the creamed corn so I had to hold my nose and eat it. Every bit I took was like chewing rotten anything. In the end I made myself sick and after that if I could not get rid of the corn I would just do without dessert.
